75th anniversary celebration of Iwo Jima flag raising honors Monticello's 'Boots' Thomas

On Feb. 23 1945, “Boots” Thomas helped raise the first flag in Iwo Jima. On Feb. 21 there is a 75th anniversary celebration in Monticello.
